What a fun experience this was, especially because I got to visit the town I illustrated after the fact, when we (Ben + Vesper) played in Egersund, Norway about a month later. I peered around every corner trying to recognize houses I had painted. Swallows are a symbol of loyalty, and on the back cover, there is a swallow returning to the town even after everyone else has fled. I hope to go back to Norway someday. I love the Nordic countries so much, and always feel more at home there. Painting this in early summer cooled me off by its very look.
